Yep, very true, and it's a problem.

To be fair, Moyes hasn't let us down in Europe. But I do wonder if things had gone to his head slightly. I think he showed them a lack of respect and got found out. It was not a team that you would put out to go to Olympiakos and beat them. It was a team to go there to grind out a result. And you could tell straight away that Moyes and the players had settled for a 0-0. There was no attacking intent, no focus or drive and all over the pitch we stood off and allowed them the ball with no pressure or defensive line whatsoever. Seemed to me that Moyes and the players had slipped into lethargy.

Having said that, for most of the first half, we looked comfortable. And I felt Olympiakos offered very little. Then it changed. They started to break our lines and move the ball faster and more direct. And our response was zero. No increase in tempo, pressure or energy. So when they scored it was inevitable and not a surprise that there player found yards and yards to run into before he hit a very well taken shot then ended in their sublime goal.

I was so, so disappointed with Fornals and Benny. They look finished. I said, if that was me, I would be demanding the ball constantly. Going mental to get the ball and screaming for it. Because I had a point to prove. Especially Benny. I would've told my team-mates to put everything my way. And I would've just run at their defence all night. But he was just lethargic. Both of them put in "nothing" performances. Just devoid of anything positive.

But, from their point of view, they turn up and play well and what happens? They get dropped next game. They've given up. Moyes has frozen them out and not rotated them enough and now they have had the stuffing knocked out of them. You can argue they are pro's and should give their all every game, but I think internally Moyes has broken them.

Ings not good enough, can't understand why Mubama is not getting minutes. Looks like another young player Moyes will break. Soucek utterly clueless again. Paqueta put on and sent out wide. And even he looked useless and gave ball away several time in about 10 minutes. Moyes should've made drastic changes at half time but left it too late.

And Oggy's owen goal summed up a pitiful night. Even Areola didn't shout for it so he needs to take some blame.

A turgid performance by the players. Huge mistakes by Moyes. A night to forget.

It doesn't matter what 12/13 he uses, the style remains the same. You could give the cunt Messi in his prime and he'd have made him look ordinary. But keep supporting him, you twat

Moyes is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Posters moan that he plays the same 12/13 players every week and why doesn't he try the other players so he does and he get's slaughtered for it.

Bear in mind the 5 he brought in are all internationals or were internationals at some stage.

The fact is Fornals looks like he has had enough and wants out, Ings is not a Moyes type player, Benrhama is a show pony and offers very little.

I would get rid of all 3 and bring some of the youth through, i'd rather see us lose 2-1 with 3 academy players in the side than with players just going through the motions.

Moyes needs to either play Mubama or loan him out.

I also missed the match after spending 5 hours in A&E after Mrs Dalton passed out a couple of times.
Seems as if I had more entertainment.

Shocked by the decline of Fornals and Benrahma. Even Bowen looked half-crocked when he came on and JWP not much better. Kudus faded after a bright start and best not all about Ings and Antonio.

It’s like some zombie experiment

Also didnt see the game
To be fair to Moyes he has usually got the balance right in the teams he has put out in Europe but think he undercooked it here against a team it seemed fairly obvious were going to be the best other team in the group.
Having played both of the better teams in the group away we are still in charge of the race for first but could have made a massive step with a win.

That said I dont understand the continuous use of Ings instead of Mubama. Ings is done and doesnt suit us at all. A disaster of an overpaid buy.
Moyes isnt going anywhere but hopefully Steidten is working on a manager for next season along with upgrades on players that need to be moved on ... Ings Antonio Benrahma Cresswell Kehrer Soucek Cornet .... add your own others

I missed the game last night, so only caught the three minutes TNT highlights on YouTube
In the highlight package, there wasn't one instance of us in the Greeks half until about 50 minutes

If you start a game with Ings and Benrhama, attacks and goals are not going to be free flowing.

I feel sorry for the 1200 fans that spend hard earnt wedge traveling over to watch that shit. There was not one player that came out of that game with any credit. Im trying to think who was the worst? Fornals, Ings, The greek bloke, or Malteaser head Obonna?? All shocking performances. Summed up by Cornet, running down the line and just carrying on out of play!!! Sunday league at best.

Re: ⚽ Olympiakos FC v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Ings aside, the starting line up was fair enough for me, but looking at it now he probably didn't show enough respect to the Greeks, but with two wins in the group already and a big game on Sunday he hedged his best, and lost. He has to win on Sunday now to justify last nights defeat or he's under the microscope big time.

There's nothing enjoyable watching us, so stop with the bollocks. You use the word negative, yet totally ignore the crap dished up by the most negative manager in history. You are a div

That starting line up was good enough to get something from the game, it's not the managers fault they all played shit and didnt take their chance to impress. You've got to give the players shit for last nights performance.

Ings shouldn't have started, it should have been Mubamba.

I guess the issue is are they not playing for Moyes anymore?

Poor performance all round…weak midfield and defense…lightweight attack until subs…

Great goal by Paqueta….

Should have been on at HT…Would have at least a draw

Re: ⚽ Olympiakos FC v West Ham - Official Match Thread
How does Muamba not start in these games ????
I just don't get it...
Ings can't run anymore. Let alone get in front of goal.

I suppose a toe poke & deflected goal was enough to beat us but we looked off the pace & Olympiakos dominated our midfield. Dreadful.
Benrahma looks a lot slower this year, Ings OAP, Fornals destroyed in confidence.

Maybe these two humblings can awaken the team & Moyes with a reality check & buck up their ideas heading into the next part of the season.

Early season eurphoria is quickly disappearing and plain to see the depth in the squad is nothing that can be relied upon.

Shit performance, need to get out of this rut, beat Everton at the weekend and then try and get some momentum going.

Re: ⚽ Olympiakos FC v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
A terrible performance in so many ways and didn't deserve anything out of it. If I was Muamba I would be telling Sullivan today I want to leave, if you can't get in ahead of that bald old carthorse Ings then you have to be on your way to save your career.

Thought Dinos looked shaky and I'm beginning to wonder what JWP offers apart from set pieces, and even they were shit last night. Fornals can't start for us again.

Moyes needs a win on Sunday, if we slip down to mid table then he has to be under a lot of pressure.

7 changes as Moyes thinks Everton game more important and long trip so had to rest a few
